b. Rochester, Minnesota, USA. Todd Anderson received a BFA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an MFA from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. Anderson’s artwork is anchored in the landscape genre and specifically centers on creatively documenting the effects of climate change. His practice involves research on climate science, consultation with scientists, fieldwork in often remote parts of the world and, of course, artwork production in the studio. In 2019, Anderson worked and traveled to Antarctica as part of the United States National Science Foundation Antarctic Artists and Writers Program. Other locations he has traveled for his artwork include the Canadian Arctic, Uganda and numerous locations throughout the U.S. American West. Anderson’s artworks have been exhibited nationally and internationally including at Art Basel Miami, the New York Affordable Art Fair, Scope London, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. His artwork has been collected widely and can be seen at the Afriterra Library, the Davis Museum at Wellesley College (USA), the Jordan Schnitzer Family Foundation, the New York Public Library, numerous American universities including Stanford and Yale Universities, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the U.S. Library of Congress. Anderson resides in South Carolina with his spouse, two children, chickens, cat, and dog. He is represented by Kai Lin Art in Atlanta, Old Main Gallery in Bozeman, Montana, and the Mezzanine Gallery Print Store inside the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
