Todd earned his BFA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a MFA in Printmaking, "With Distinction," at the University of New Mexico.
Todd has worked at several distinguished print studio's including Tandem Press (Madison, Wisconisn, USA); The Tamarind Institute of Lithography (Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA); and The Artist's Press (White River, Mpumalanga, Republic of South Africa).
Todd has taught in the USA at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls; Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant, Michigan; and, currently is Area Head and Assistant Professor of Printmaking at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in Edwardsville, Illinois.
Todd Anderson's artwork continues to be influenced by his love of climbing and adventuring in wilderness areas as well as his love for drawing and printmaking. Regarding the natural enviornment, Todd's favorite authors on this subject include Henry Thoreau, John Muir, Jack Turner, John Long, and Anne Dillard. Todd's short-list of artistic influences inculde artists as diverse as Edward Burtynsky, Vija Clemens, Bruce Crownover, Patrick Nagatani, Raymond Pettibone, Judy Pfaff, Galen Rowell, Wang Hui, Sarah Sze and Hercules Seghers.
