Trend lives and works in Newcastle upon Tyne, is a studio holder at The New Bridge Project, and founding member of The Hang Gang.

Trend's work concerns states of the ‘in-between’: molten and solid, representation and abstraction, the permanent and momentary. Most recently he has been using slips, oxides, carbonates and glazes to produce paintings transformed by a hidden alchemy at 1260°C. Through his work Trend continues to mix associations of the photograph, the painting and the object.
